When you’re thinking about upgrading your home, we know it can be a big decision. Choosing the right material for your windows shouldn’t be a difficult one. Low maintenance and hard-wearing, uPVC windows are a great way to upgrade your home.
To give it it’s full name, Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride, is a highly versatile building material. UPVC’s main use is for window sills and frames in new buildings or to replace older glazing.
As well as its primary use in glazing, uPVC is also used in plumbing and drainage so you know can be assured it is a hard-wearing, durable choice for your windows.
Although uPVC is a cheaper alternative to expensive hardwood or aluminium, you won’t compromise on quality. UPVC is popular due to its cost-effectiveness and durable nature.
uPVC is made with vinyl polymer, which is then bound to chlorine meaning the window frames aren’t actually plastic. As well as amazing strength and durability, you won’t have any high ongoing maintenance costs.
In order to comply with building regulations, all uPVC widows must be energy rated, meaning they’re extremely energy efficient. With all of the technical boxes these windows tick, you’d think you’d need to compromise on style. When it comes to uPVC windows, the choice of finishes, colours and styles available is endless.
